Conference. Forum Of Empathic Cities

The Forum of Empathic Cities took place in Kraków on May 15-16, 2023, bringing together experts from across Europe to discuss the importance of creating inclusive, human-centered urban spaces. Ewelina Jaskulska and the Architektoniczki collective presented their research methodology during this event, focusing on how public spaces can be designed to be more empathetic and equal for all users, particularly women.

Their presentation, titled “Equal Rights Space – How Others Fit into Universally Designed Spaces”, explored the gendered experience of urban environments, highlighting how traditional architectural designs often exclude or marginalize certain groups. The team emphasized the importance of empathy in urban planning, advocating for spaces that reflect the diverse needs of all city inhabitants.

This conference also addressed broader social challenges, including the role of cities in promoting human rights and equality at the local level.
