In May 2023, Architektoniczki and the Katarzyna Kozyra Foundation, including Ewelina Jaskulska, Joanna Aleksandrowicz, and Honorata Grzesikowska, visited Barcelona as part of an Erasmus+ mobility project. This collaboration with Colectiu Punt 6, a feminist urbanism collective, focused on exploring gender perspectives in urban planning.
During the week-long stay, the group participated in lectures and workshops that addressed issues such as women’s mobility in public spaces and the challenges of access to public toilets for women and transgender individuals. They also explored feminist approaches to city design, analyzing aspects like safety in public transport and representation of women in urban infrastructure.
Inspired by this experience, Architektoniczki created ONA (“SHE”), a project that visualized women’s emotional and physical well-being while navigating city spaces at night. This project played an important role at the Women’s Congress in Poland, encouraging participants to reflect on their own experiences in urban environments.
The visit also included a stop at Equal Saree, where discussions focused on equality in school spaces, and fieldwork examining how Barcelona’s public spaces have evolved to be more inclusive. This visit provided valuable insights for Architektoniczki to further their work on promoting inclusivity and feminist perspectives in urban planning.
